What has Snapchat implemented? What is Walmart using blockchain for? Let’s get down to what happened in commerce and tech news in the last week. This post is curated to help tune-out some of that noise and turn it into information that matters.
WHAT'S GOING ON IN COMMERCE THIS WEEK?
New Ecommerce Features for SnapChat
Considering the ecommerce news that came out with Instagram last week, it isn't too surprising that Snapchat is making moves of their own. Earlier, they announced their partnership with Amazon for visual search shopping. Now they've announced that they're rolling out their 'Collection Ads' in October to all advertisers, that advertisers can make product catalogues, and that they're updating the Snapchat pixel. Exciting times for ecommece, isn't it?
Lettuce and Blockchains?
An outbreak can lead to more than just a loss of sales. It's why Walmart has taken steps even after everything has considered to have gone back to normal. They've announced this week that they're requiring their providers who supply items, like lettuce (for now) to submit and upload data the the Blockchain through their network by January 31, 2019.
FabFitFun and Live Programming
A subscription box doesn't have to go stale. This company has decided to take live streaming on Facebook to the next level by doing it daily for two hours. This isn't going to be just them doing unboxings or anything. They want to keep it interactive and offer product showcases, beauty demonstrations, DIY projects, and more. This is all about keeping engaged with their subscribers and potential subscribers.
